Surfboards

Inspired by living in Ocean City, NJ in 2011, I created my first mosaic surfboard titled "Peace Love Surf." Although technically not a surfer myself, I love to boogie board and can relate to the feeling of becoming one with the wave and its incredible power. As well as being a cool symbol of the union between man and ocean, the surfboard is an amazing mosaic surface.

It's lightweight for its size and readily available when damaged to be saved from a landfill. The shape itself feeds my imagination with its elongated vesica piscis curves. At first I stuck with the clear ocean themes of sun and waves, later moving to more visionary designs. Is there another board in the works? Always one waiting in the wings...
